Do you need a copy of your tax return information?

Taxpayers have two easy and convenient ways to make copies of their federal return tax information - tax return transcripts and tax account transcripts - by phone or email.

A tax return transcript shows that most positions in the tax return (Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ) as it was originally filed, including related forms and schedules. It does not reflect changes made by an agent, the IRS after the return was filed. In many cases, a return transcript with the requirements of credit institutions to meet mortgage and students.

A tax account transcript shows an adjustment later, you or the IRS, which was filed after the tax return. This transcript shows basic data submitted, including marital status, type of return, adjusted gross income and taxable income.

Requests for transcripts or by calling 1-800-829-1040 or by mail with the IRS Form 4506-T, the transcript of the tax return. The IRS does not charge for copies that are available for current and prior three calendar years. Approximately two weeks for delivery.

If you listed a photocopy of a previously processed tax return and systems, complete Form 4506, Request for Copy of tax return, and send to the IRS address on the form for your area. There is a fee of $ 39 required for each evaluation period. Copies are generally for the last 6 years and over.
